There's no doubt that these are tough times for everyone. For our elderly neighbors who are living on fixed incomes, however, times are particularly harsh. In fact, some completely run out of money by the end of the month.

For those whose families live far away, and those who have outlived their friends, we are here to help. We offer companionship as well as material necessities such as groceries when no food is left, or funds to prevent utility shut-offs or evictions. For these long-time members of our communities, we ensure someone is there.

In good and bad economic times, United Neighbors connects elderly people in the neighborhood with the resources, services and companionship they need to maintain fulfilled, independent lives in the community.

This year we need your help more than ever. By making a gift to United Neighbors now, you can have an immediate, lasting effect on the quality of life for people who find themselves in need at the end of their lives. Your gift goes directly toward providing vital resources and services for your neighbors at a time when their fixed incomes just do not suffice.

We hope you'll take this opportunity to make a difference in their lives.

Every contribution to United Neighbors helps us fight the hunger, illness, disability and loneliness that threaten the quality of life of the elderly in our community. Your gift strengthens our neighborhood by helping elderly people remain in their homes.

Enclosed is a copy of our brochure. If you haven't already, please take a closer look into who we are and, with your help, all that we can continue to do for our community.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support, and please accept our best wishes for a new year filled with love, hope and health!

Very sincerely yours,

Joan Mintz
